Popup Maker extensions are licensed for one year at a time. By default, licenses for single plugin extensions are automatically renewed on the anniversary date of the original purchase. The license renewal is charged either to the credit card number or PayPal account used to make the initial license purchase.
Single plugin extensions: Effective May 1, 2018, Popup Maker no longer offers renewal discounts on new purchases of single plugin extensions. Current licensees who purchase one or more plugin extension licenses before May 1, 2018 are still eligible to renew at a 30% discount rate.
Active single plugin licenses purchased before May 1 that do not automatically renew their subscription are eligible to receive a renewal discount if the license expires, and is renewed after the initial anniversary purchase date.
Core Extensions Bundle ( also known as the 'All Access Pass' ): Effective May 1, 2018, Popup Maker no longer offers renewal discounts on new purchases of the Core Bundle extension. Current licensees who purchased a Core Bundle extension license before May 1, 2018 can continue to renew their license at a 30% discount rate.
Active Core Bundle extensions licenses purchased before May 1, 2018 that do not automatically renew their subscription are eligible to receive a renewal discount if the license expires, and is renewed after the initial anniversary purchase date.
What happens if a license is not renewed?
- Automatic security and plugin feature updates will be discontinued.
- The download link in your Popup Maker site profile will disappear.
- You will no longer have access to technical support for that plugin extension.
If I renew my license, do I need to download and reinstall the software again?
No, the built-in automatic update system will take care of all of that for you.
Will my extension work with an inactive or expired license?
Yes, it will. This is perfectly acceptable under the terms of the software license.
Is there a discount for renewing a plugin license?
Single plugin extension licensees: On May 1, 2018, annual renewal discounts on the purchase of new plugin extension licenses will be discontinued. All existing licenses as of that date will still receive a 30% renewal discount on the license anniversary date. Existing plugin extension licenses that expire after May 1, 2018, and are not automatically renewed will still be eligible to receive a renewal discount if the license is renewed.
Core Bundle extension licensees (also known as the 'All Access Pass' ): On May 1, 2018, annual renewal discounts on the purchase of new Core Bundle extension licenses will be discontinued. All existing licenses as of that date will still receive a 30% renewal discount on the license anniversary date. Existing plugin extension licenses that expire after May 1, 2018 and are not automatically renewed will still be eligible to receive a renewal discount if the license is renewed.
Calculating the renewal discount (applies to purchases before 05/01/2018): As a Popup Maker plugin user, you purchase a license for the Exit Intent extension at $35.00. Later, the price of the same extension rises to $45.00. The renewal discount is based on the price at the time of purchase. The renewal date & price are locked in until canceled. In this case the discounted renewal would be $24.50; $35.00 (original cost of license) - $10.50 (30% discount) = $24.50.
Are there lifetime licensing options?
All single plugin licenses existing prior to May 05, 2018 will receive a 30% renewal discount on their annual renewals forever. All Core Bundle plugin extension licences prior to May 1, 2018 will receive a 30% renewal discount on their annual renewals forever. There are no other lifetime options at this time.
If I have Live and Testing servers, do I need to activate my license on both sites?
No, you should only activate your license on your live site. You may still install your extension on your test server and use it without an active license.
Local testing and development sites (those ending with extensions *.dev, *.local, *.loc, *.test; running as URL '127.0.0.1; or localhost) are not included in the site count assigned to a license. A Popup Maker plugin extension can be installed on both a local testing and live version of a site and receive updates within the term of the license.
How do I manually renew my license?
See this guide for renewing your license keys.
Will my license renew itself automatically?
By default, all Popup Maker premium plugin licenses are renewed automatically on the anniversary date of the initial purchase. The renewal fee is automatically billed to either the credit card or PayPal account used in the initial purchase.
How will I know when the license subscription is renewed?
You will receive an email notification to the address that you provided when the license was initially purchased. The primary email address for the license subscription can be modified within your Popup Maker account. Log in to your account and select the 'Profile' options tab to edit your account information.
What if I don't want to automatically renew my license?
You can log into your Popup Maker account at any time and end your automatic subscription renewal within the subscription period of the license. From the 'My Account' page, select the 'Subscriptions' options tab. From the option settings on that tab, deactivate automatic license renewal. Your license will remain eligible to receive support and updates within the subscription period.
