'Close -- Alternate Methods' option settings

The Close option within the Popup Settings box contains 2 option tabs. They include:

  1. General
  2. Alternate Methods

This article focuses on the 'Close -- Alternate Methods' option settings within the Popup Settings box.

By default, a popup is closed by selecting it's 'Close' button. Three option settings extend popup 'close' via the browser and keyboard.

Click Overlay to Close -- When set to 'on', this feature allows visitors to close a popup when the 'overlay' layer is clicked or touched. The overlay is the background behind the popup container that 'lays over' the browser content. Activating this feature provides visitors a larger area to close a popup. The expanded 'close' feature will even work when the overlay layer is disabled.

Press ESC to Close -- When set to 'on', this feature allows visitors to close a popup by using their keyboard 'Escape' (ESC) key.

Press F4 to Close -- When set to 'on', this feature allows visitors to close a popup by pressing their keyboard. In the Windows operating system, the keyboard F4 function key allows users to close application windows and programs. When enabled, this feature extends that capability to all plugin users, regardless of their operating system.
